TASK FORCE GENERAL INFORMATION
The School District of New Berlin's Board of Education selected 16 citizens to serve on a Budget Balancing Task Force this summer and fall.
The task force was comprised of a cross-section of applicants representing the many varying stakeholder interests throughout the community. It was charged with learning about school finance, receiving information about the SDNB's budget and current/future financial status and, ultimately, presenting budget recommendations to the School Board this fall.
Task force members attended meetings July 11, Aug. 13, Aug. 20, Sept. 10, Sept. 16, and Oct. 9. Meetings lasted approximately 2-1/2 hours and were held at New Berlin West in the Idea Center (library), 18695 W. Cleveland Ave.
The task force shared its recommendations and report with the Board of Education on Oct. 18.
School Board members, President Amy Crosby and Vice-President Susan Manley, were task force liaisons. District administrators and staff attended task force meetings to present information. Roger Price of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) was the meeting facilitator. The community was invited to attend and observe all of the task force sessions.
